For over 40 years, Dr. Fox’s practice has been devoted to the care of the elderly and disabled. He has continuously made house calls and home visits. He has provided and managed the care of cognitively impaired older adults, brain-injured adults, disabled children, and psychiatric patients in their homes. Since 1999, he has served as the Medical Director of Wellspring Personal Care, a private-duty home nursing and home services company in Chicago. In 2014, Dr. Fox founded and developed Home Care MetricsSM, a telehealth platform used by complex chronically ill patients to avoid hospitalization and emergency room care.
In early 2020, Dr. Fox began research into the causes and potential for prevention of frailty in older adults. He found that frailty is not inevitable or determined by chronologic age or medical diagnosis. Frailty is principally determined by an individual’s functional age. In November 2023, he completed the development of Resilient80s®, an online program for people 60 to 90 years of age.
The self-generated Resilient80s assessment establishes an accurate current functional age that gives users a benchmark to improve their functional age and increase their healthy life expectancy.
